    Shooting Range "fun games"

I have been "voluntold" to come up with some fun competitive challenges for our work department outing at the local firing range. We will have AR-15's, handguns and shot guns.

What are some easy competitive activities to organize?

I realize some of this will be contingent on the firing range rules and facilities and I'll be sure to check with them on some of the ideas yall can suggest.

    Thanks!

knock out with a shot gun is fun.

Shooters in a line. Start on the left and work to the right.

Clay pigeon gets thrown. Guy on left shoots. If he hits. It moves to the next guy.

If he misses, guy on his right can now shoot. And so on. If guy to right hits, all the people that missed, are knocked out.

Strip marksmanship. Shoot three shots into a bullseye target. Lower score removes clothing. Repeat until you are asked to leave and are permanently banned from the range.

            Dot torture

This is a test that I got from a range officer at the NRA range one night. I showed it to Todd who liked it more than I did. He figured out that it originally came from David Blinder at personaldef…

Fruit shoot. Place different fruits at different ranges to shoot at. A grape with an AR is a challenge at 100 yards

Play cards. Players take turns making a shot. Best 5 card hand wins.

We used to hang golf balls on a string with alligator clips and shoot em 100-300yds. Sniper golf is what they called it. Use a staple gun to shoot a staple into the golf ball to hang the clip on! Best use I've ever found for a golf ball.

Good ideas! It will all depend on what the range allows I guess.

For rifles we used to flip a coin - heads left handed, tails right handed.

Roll a dice for shooting position

                      1. Standing, 2. Sitting (no bench), 3. kneeling, 4. Prone (no bags or bipod) 5 seated bench with front bag 6. Shooters choice of 1-5.

Shoot a bullseye target for score. Repeat total of ten times - highest cumulative score wins
