Y'all have some awesome prices!
I just talked to a RPLS friend of mine, to get some info for a potential sale for Tina.
Basically, a lady inherited some property, wants to sell 5 acres of it, but said she will NOT pay for a survey. Friend said that you'd need a Category 1A survey, for financed land or a Category 1B survey for a cash deal. To shoot in 2 or 3 sides of the existing property and then the "5 acre" part, could run from $1,700 to $3,500.

IMO there is absolutely no way an RPLS is doing the research necessary to complete a survey in strict accordance with their state mandated practices for $500 unless it is in a new subdivision for which they have already done a lot of work. Those are some impressive quotes some of you have gotten.

Be careful as you might get what you pay for. Finding a good surveyor/RPLS can be tricky. Sure some are slow and you can get a decent deal but some great deals they're simply not doing their job.

Survey cost?
I paid $750 like I said before. Only few years ago. I had the original copy of the 40 acre survey and the first division of it that split it as well. I'm sure that helped. My surveyors place was only a few miles from my land and he said it would be cheap because they didn't have to much field work. I think he did charge me a few more $100 to add the house and shop to the final survey at the end.
Another guy told me $1500 or more and several others plain told me they didn't have time and it would take forever to get to me.
