I was feeling a little brave today

Was hunting my battery charger in the garage and moved the box it came in and saw something move
Instantly knew it was a serpent

Pretty sure of what it was I eased the box out of the shelf and sure enough there was a juvi rat/chicken snake about 2' long

I had gloves on so I eased him out with a stick and grabbed him up
Of course he bit the glove (docile )

But I carried him out to the woods and let him go on his way to eat bugs (I guess that is what little ones eat?) so he could grow to eat mice

    Well done!
Wish I could put him in my deer lease trailer.
He would be fat and happy!

            Good job.

Doing yard work last weekend, my wife promptly came and got me from the barn because a little snake was curled up on seat of chair on the porch. She thinks I'm crazy because I won't kill snakes at home unless poisonous, it now lives in my brush pile. I think.

You know there are 30-50 more where that little bastage came from. Don't tell your wife!

I had one in the water trough yesterday. Hoping he was eating the frogs and not my gold fish that eat the mosquito larva. He lives for now. If my fish disappear, he will no longer live.

She was already unhappy that I let it go

Don't lead her to believe there are more, I will be moving and/or trying to put out the fire
