Corn prices coming down

Closed somewhere around $2.80, down from $7.70 a few months ago. I saw a 50# bag at Lowes yesterday for $11.00 Best I can figure a 50# bag ought to be somewhere around #3.50 per 50#. Might have to wait awhile before we see it at the stores.......................

Thats not to bad. Lots of stored corn around that can be had for cheap in the coming months. I think if I was a farmer I would have had to sell and the $6 to $7 bucks a bushel they could have got a few months ago. Or at least bought some puts to protect my profit........

Lyssy/Eckle in Georgetown was under 7 for 50 couple weeks ago. I've seen it at convenience stores for 11 per 50. That's robbery. Of course, that same store had a small bag of ice for 2.59.

I've been paying $7.50 per 50lb at Walmart and judging by the 15+ pallets that price won't be coming down soon. I may have to go buy at a feed store if the prices continue to drop...

I quit messin with the price of corn. I just swipe the card and give the receipt to Momma and when she drags out the ledger I disappear to the pasture. Seems to work so far.

There are alot of feed mills stuck with high priced corn that they bought.
