    EMT Conduit for Tri-Pod Feeders

Replacing the 3-section tri-pod feeder legs that the hogs busted up with solid legs ... They came with the 55 Gal Barrel Kit.

Looking at pipe thickness and length (10 ft section is longer than 3-section legs)... I think this would work ...

Anyone else use this for feeder legs.

I would not use EMT. I would use rigid conduit.

I use the EMT conduit for feeder legs (1 1/2"), camera post, and I extended my Blynd legs with it too.If those 3 piece legs were holding up that feeder, then conduit will work too IMO.

We use 1.25 or 1.5" emt conduit for our 55 gallon drums all the time. Plenty strong enough.

Size just depends on your leg mount widths

2-3/8" OD oil field pipe is cheap & easy to come by.....& much stronger when cows, pigs, wind, etc. is leaning on it.

I've used EMT conduit. It works well. It's cheap. It's readily available at Lowes and Home Depot.

I would not recommend EMT. I would recommend IMC but not emt.

I have 2 feeders that have been on 1 1/2" EMT for 5 years.

I've had good luck with 1" EMT. I would make the bottom of the drum about 6' high and bury the legs about 2 feet.

What about the thicker 1 3/8" x 10.6' Galvanized steel Rods used for chain-link fences

This is what I have on my 300# feeder

I like emt, 1-1/2 at least, but my favorite is 1-1/4" rigid aluminum conduit

1&1/4"EMT that is 81"long. Have used on many feeders with 55 gallon drums.

I don't like emt. I'd personally get something more robust. It'll work, but there's better options IMO
