If its above the weight it from the weight and bead sliding up and down. Ive seen it, even with lead weight and plastic bead. Not often but it happens.

Big game does so well cause its diameter is thick for line size, it gets abraded, just lots of material there

I use power pro braid for everything fresh and saltwater.
The only exemption is top water and crank baits...I use 17lb stren mono for that.
