Construction internship help

My name is Will and I am a junior at Texas State studying Construction Science and Management. I am currently searching for an internship in the home building industry for this coming summer and quite frankly none of my cold emails are being responded to so I though I'd ask the green screen for some advice or maybe to be pointed in the right direction.

Try calling the HR department at Highland Homes. They have an internship program every year I did one back in 2011 at that time there were 4 spots in the DFW market. I'm pretty sure they do them for all four of the major markets in Texas that they are in. I don't know the name of the HR director right now as it's been several years since I worked for them.

You are half way between two fair size markets so I would look up corporate offices of home builders in each, make myself presentable and hit the bricks in person. Have an explanation of what you want and some character references or a resume of what you have done before, to leave with them. I haven't looked for a job in 28 years or 18 years before that, so I guess I'm old school. I do know that unsolicited e-mail goes to my junk file and most is deleted without opening. Best of luck to you, I envy your age, but I'm glad to be getting out of your way soon.

What city and when do you graduate? We are looking to hire a few guys with building experience and a few without building experience in the Lewisville, Plano, Carrollton area. We have 3 or 4 Townhomes subdivisions that are about to open up and lot more coming after those. We are wanting to hire and train for about 6-8 months. If anyone is looking let me know.
