    Testing Starter

The starter in my golf cart decided to stop working. When pushing the gas all I get is a click, so I tested the voltage on both sides of the capacitor and am getting the voltage when pushing the gas pedal. I pulled the starter so I can look at it closer and curious if there's a way to test it with a battery and cables. There are multiple posts which are confusing for a novice like myself, so I've attached pics with all terminals. The two on the side ate labeled A1 & A2. Any ideas on how to test it or should I just take it to a shop?

F1 looks to be the hot side. You can hook the ground to the casing and that should do it.

I would chase the cables when it was on the machine to better determine what went where. Ohm your cables also to make sure none rotted through and if you do figure out how to test it and it spins, that doesn't mean it works. Could fail under a load.

Sounds like I may need to just take it to the shop. I want to make sure thats the issue before replacing. Not sure how much they charge, but I can get a new one for $110 online.
