Its a Devils Walking stick. I have had many a run in with them. They are all over SETx

Locust tree the leaves are small, usually about an inch long and will have 20 or more leaves on a stem.

aka Hercules Club, Devils Walking Stick, etc
I learned something new today. Largest leaf of North American deciduous trees.

            Pretty cool.

Yep, and the Black Locust thorn tree has WAY bigger and worst thorns that those puny little suckers!

Hercules club is also known as "toothache tree" because you can cut slivers of the bark and chew on them (or just stick them behind your lip) and deaden your mouth.

If I try to type what I call them it would just be a bunch of dots.

That is a new one for me.

I have a huge bois d arc tree in the back yard.

Locust tree thorns put that one to shame. Some of the thorns are so big and long that they have thorns too.

^^ YIP. Honey Locust is a no Joke tree. Their thorns have thorns and the older the tree gets the more nettled the thorns become. Bo'Dark trees are much less aggressive.
If it is in a problem area, hack and spray that way nothing else is affected, if it's not, I would just leave it.
