The renovation of the Statue of Liberty took place in the mid 70's in time for the 1976 Bi centennial. Lee Iaococca was in charge. It would have been very possible to acquire some steel from the project then.
I have original World Trade Center Steel. I have no provenance, but I worked there for 4.5 years rebuilding the WTC and constructing the 9/11 Museum and Memorial.
So it is possible to get things like Lady Liberty steel.
If you didn't get a port authority transfer certificate for WTC steel, you are in violation too.

I might get flamed but I think it's ugly.

Cabot is interesting. They haven't sold themselves with the purists yet. They did yank Rob away from Alchemy Custom into their fold. He is one of the best smiths in my opinion. He started in Springfields custom shop as a parts grabber and worked his way up to help running the custom dept then went to Les Baer as a smith before opening up his shop AC. He turned out some AMAZING work. Looked great and incredibly accurate pistols. Cabot is lucky to have him. Trying to blend a hand fitting smith with an automated design like the Cabot line is interesting to see where they go.

JJ is an artist in his own right I'll give him that but his 1911's I'll pass. Even if I could afford one.

No sir ree...not needed. I asked museum folks...did not want to be in any violation. Part of what my company assembled and removed. Not selling it, not making profit.
Lost 3 friends that day. That steel means something to me.
I also have wood scraps from the Ipe and Oak laid at the museum.
Pulled out of dumpster from new construction. They know I have that also.
So if you think you nailed Murph the surf...sorry.

Does it come with one of his 76db suppressors that look like a RPG?

Man I'm glad we are all perfect on the site. I would be very disappointed to find that any of us had ever made a mistake.

I have no problem with anything but the price...I have received a few 5 & even 6 figure firearms for some serious collectors & that is not one of them.

You could get an original Singer Sewing 1911 for that kind of jack.
