Myself and crookedarrow are looking for 2 other hunters for the upcoming season.
I just recently looked at 1100 acres 10 miles east of sweetwater, this will be new property to the both of us and hasn't been hunted in 2 years.
We have no idea what to expect far as herd numbers or genetics. We will be leasing it from a gentleman that has the grazing rights and he assured there were a good number of deer, turkey, and hogs. They're a few rules we've come up with so far and once we have a full member list we can further discuss what best fits our needs.
Per member
1. 1 mature 4.5 8 point or better
2 1 cull which include spikes
3. Every buck taken a doe needs to be taken aswell.
4. Immediate family is allowed but will shoot of your allotment.
Currently, there isn't a place for camp (no well/electricity). But, there's a caliche pad we're able to park a camper. I'm sure we could haul water in with totes and there is a dead meter on the property we could possibly get hooked back up.
The property has 4 or 5 water tanks which I saw only one and it was full. There's a pretty good sized wheat field and also has a pipe line running through it. On parts of the ranch has gentle elevation changes and for the most part is pretty brushy with cedar.
It will have cows for the entire season with no more than 40 head.
It is a year round lease, so that would include deer, hogs, turkey, dove, and quail.l I've elected to pay more of the total lease price to secure the predator hunting entirely for myself. I wouldn't mind if someone shot a coyote or bobcat at their feeder but other than that no calling.
It's $1650 a spot bow or rifle. Half when you commit and the other half by July 15. We are thinking 1 feeder per member and you can set up however many blinds you want over that.
I haven't yet signed the contract but hand shook the deal. I wanted to get this out there for anyone looking.
if you have questions feel free to call or text me at 432-425-4870
