    Wt deer hunts?

The axis hunting cost thread got me thinking. How much are Texas WT deer hunts now? Are they going out of control also or just the exotics? Talking kill rates here, not day hunts if you kill or not.

What would be decent price in your opinion for a buck or a doe?

As many deer as folks are stocking in small high fence feedlot style you would think at some point the 200"+ deer market would get saturated.

I noticed there were a lot of last minute "deals" on deer left over at the end of this past year.

It has. A 200" deer 10 years ago on a package hunt, 5 star would run $20k... now you can get them (or I've seen them advertised anyway) less than $10k. As on some of the smaller properties a 200" really isn't anything "big" anymore.

Quality animal hunting package imho have actually come down in comparison to the cost of everything else.

Any lease worth a &@$% will be $2000-$10,000 + fuel + lodging all season+feed + drama+ uncertainty.....vs go with someone like jj Matt or kivroman and have it all take care of and have a legit chance at the quality animal your after. They are cheaper in my opinion.

Try and buy land.... you can achieve the gram slam cheaper than that...

It's all about where you look and how fast you want a big one. Some people have more money than they do time and have no problem dropping big money on them. I've killed my last couple of mid 60's whitetails in the past 2 years and have about $3.65 per inch tied up in killing them. My taxi bill cost me more out of pocket than the deer did....
