Gas & Smoker combo grill. Pros/cons? Recommendations?

$5-800 range. Our old grill is about done, and I want to get into the smoking game as well. Any advice against a combo?

We have a covered deck attached to our house, and the grill will sit just at the edge of it. Will I need to route a stack to carry the smoke away? I love the smell of course but don't know what I may be getting into in that regard.

I don't want flimsy, smoke-leaky, or rusty in 2 years. Take me to school guys!

I had a a combo gas and charcoal grill recently and it was fine but not the best built. I believe it was a DynaGlo. I'm kind of is the mindset that the combo things are fine and give you options but usually doesn't do either great. I enjoy having different tools in the toolbox when it comes to hunting, fishing and cooking. I have a custom stick burner, Weber charcoal and Weber gas grill and box smoker that I will probably upgrade to a pellet smoker soon. Just like to have options. I do think the higher end BGE and Primos Kamado style cookers do a lot very good but then you don't have the gas component you mentioned.

jgard & HH94. Thank you guys for the replies. I've dug in a little more based on your comments and have learned that what I want doesn't really exist. I really want a pellet smoker. But nobody makes a pellet & gas combo. HH94, I think I need to focus on a quality gas grill, like a Weber. Will add a pellet smoker when I have a little more room. Appreciate the input gents.
