Surveyor ?

On my 6 acre place is a marked control point. Rebar with a yellow cap. It is right where I want to run a driveway. Can I cover it?

You sure it's a control point and not a property pin?? If it's just a control point no worries.

Do you know what the control is for? If it's not USGS monument then its a local point set for a project. Does the cap contain RPLs # or company name?

Not a monument. I believe it was set to survey my lot and/or several of the lots around me that were all cut out of a ranch.

If it it not a property corner you have no issues covering it up. It is part of a control network set up for surveys in the area, most likely to set boundary corners from or topographic surveys.
