    Great day!

Enjoyed my grandkids, played in the game room, used the work out room, drank some nice scotch and ended it with some fried backstrap.

That looks like a very nice place, can't imagine a " bad" day there.

Your second pic, in the game room, what's the story on that tall tined buck?! He's a beast!

He scored 192, low fence and has a cool story. My FIL shot him a while back on one of the coldest days of the year. There was sleet and ice everywhere. He had seen this deer several times but had not had a chance for a shot. This deer was pretty smart, he would stay just inside the brush line and he would only give you quick glimpses of his massive set of horns. Well my FIL had buck fever as you can imagine and hunted this deer for quite some time. This buck, like the rest of us, was doomed when it came to the rut. Like I said it was a cold day but he decided to go hunting regardless. He was freezing his butt off when the big buck finally came out to chase a doe in the sendero. A shot was fired and he thought it was a solid hit but the buck ran off. It was hard for him to sit in the cold and wait it out so he probably did not give the deer enough time. There was a decent blood trail but it ended at a small creek and then my FIL had to make a decision. Cross the creek in the freezing weather or go back to the truck and drive way around the nearest crossing. He shed his clothes and held them above his head along with his rifle and crossed the creek. He said his adrenalin was pumping so hard that the water did not seem very cold. When he got to the opposite bank he put his clothes back on and continued to trail the deer. He found it not far from the creek and it was well worth the cold water and weather.
