    Texas panhandle wildfire relief

Hi everyone! I am tired of just sharing post after post about the wildfires burning Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Kansas. I am asking everyone and anyone in the Brazos valley that wants to contribute, call or email me. I am gathering donations and supplies to take to the panhandle in two weeks. These people are our neighbors and they are hurting. 1,000,000+ acres burned, 1,000+ head of cattle, six cowboys and cowgirls, $21 million in damage

You have an account at the co-op? I'll put some money on your acct for feed. I'm headed to Oklahoma tomorrow to look at cows and wish I would have thought about this. Could have hauled a load up

From what I am hearing the hay situation is fairly well under control. What these folks are really needing right now are fencing supplies and labor to get them put up. I'm not sure where they stand on vet supplies at the moment. This isn't official information of course, just word of mouth from being fairly close to the area in question.

The shop I work at is on Hwy 83 in Wellington. The number of loads of hay I have seen going by the last couple weeks is nothing short of amazing. We have lots of good folks in this state who sure are willing to help out when their fellow men and women are in need.

It's not just Texas of course, Oklahoma and Kansas are hurting too.

What you are doing is a really good thing. A lot of these ranchers are too proud to ask for help. But when you roll up and see the tears in their eyes, then you will know how bad they are hurting inside.

I can't even imagine. I've seen the pictures and videos of the hay convoys coming from all over. Makes me cry every time.
I just talked with the Gray County Extension Office and they said they are set on hay for everyone for the next couple days but who know where they'll be in two weeks when we get up there

Very true on the hay. The staging areas are full at the moment, but if it stops rolling then they will empty out quick.

The other morning I saw 11 semi's loaded to the gills with round bales, one right behind the other, all rolling north.

Vet and fencing supplies aren't as easy to spot unless you happen to be paying attention.

I promise anything you bring will get used.

If you make the trip yourself I promise those areas are like nothing you have seen before. The scope of it is hard to swallow. 70 miles south of there, and we still smell ash every time the wind swaps around from the north.
