golf courses near Santa Fe New Mexico

I will be in Santa Fe in May for a wedding, and I know it might be a long shot but has anyone ever golfed or know someone who has golfed in the area? Could probably get away with travelling between 30 mins maybe an hour depending on the course. Any recommendations?

Marty Sanchez Links de Sante Fe, in Santa Fe, NM, is an 27-hole golf course that also offers a state of the art practice facility, golf lessons, and multiple golf membership options.

These ones are just a few miles from me. It is about a forty minute drive from SF. You can catch the train and the casino shuttle will pick you up if you don't want to drive.

You can also utilize the train for this one. About a fifty minute drive from SF.

We used to golf at the Towa golf course while building the Buffalo Thunder Resort several years ago, it was very nice. Not sure what kind of shape it is in now, haven't made it back since. It is located just north of Santa Fe in a little town called Pojoaque. Another good course is Black Mesa located in La Mesilla, a little bit north of Pojoaque.

Thank you. I will look into those. Do any of them have some decent elevation changes or unique holes?

Here is another nearby course. You can also try los Companas but I think it is a member club.

Yes, both courses have some drastic elevation changes. There is a very unique Par 3 at the Towa course that has you tee off roughly 100' above the elevation of the green, which sits as an island in the middle of a small lake. Make sure to let your buddies tee off first to decide which club to hit, the distance can be very challenging to determine!

I played The Marty Sanchez course a few years back...a really nice course for a public course. You don't want to hit the ball out of bounds.....watch for rattlesnakes signs everywhere. The course was across the road from Randy Travis' house. Don't know if he still lives there.
