Feeder question

Anybody know if you upgrade a simple 6v photocell feeder to 12v battery and motor, will it mess up the photocell circuits?

I would get rid of the entire control box and put a new one on it with 12v motor, timer and battery. Of course without seeing yours, I have no Idea how easy/hard that would be.

This is actually for a DIY build I'm working on, not an actual feeder upgrade. I'm wanting to use the photocell circuits in another 12v application.
