    Anyone own an LS tractor?

Recently purchased 100 acres and need a tractor. Looking at an LS XG3140H. Anyone have any experience with them?

Heard they're good tractors. They're an entity of LG I believe. Only problem is dealer support and parts.

I'm in San Angelo. There's a kubota dealer here but I was not impressed at all with the sales staff. No knowledge whatsoever. And I don't think they can come close on price, unless you can hook me up!

I looked at all of them but LS. I ended up with Branson 3520 and been very pleased. I have had it 2 weeks and put on 24 hours of full load and it's been impressive.

I looked at them about 3 yrs ago when I was looking at tractors. They make several models off the same frame just change the HP so tractors way about the same in that model is all that was different. I looked at cab model and it was a bit more HP and gear ranges than a Mahindra 6110 but cost just a little more. It was cheaper than a JD of the same HP by quite a bit. Was a nice looking tractor with a lot for the money. Looked pretty well built.
Call James at Heart of Texas Kubota (325) 597-9353 in Brady. He is a dealer and is a great guy that I hunted with for 7-8 yrs in Pecos County.

they quoted me 21500 delivered for a xg3140 hydrostat with bucket, 6' shredder, and 6' box blade, and poky in the tires. they guy says that's one of their package deals, and I questioned it pulling 6' implements being that it's still the smaller frame model... he swears up and down it will handle it without a problem...

Bro in law has one for 6 years or so now. I borrow it regularly. No complaints from either of us it's a stout little tractor that does what a 30hp will do quite well. I agree parts could be hit or miss but. Itching has been needed yet that couldn't be bought at napa.

LS makes a decent tractor. The main thing that folks need to look at is 1) reliability 2) parts support 3) resale. Last is price. The reason I say this is because most of these tractors are within a few thousand dollars of each other. Saving $3000 up front SOUNDS like a good deal, but in 5 years, the resale on the Kubota and Deere is gonna get you most (if not all) of that back) (and Mahindra is getting better). Might be different if we were talking 30-40% savings, but we're usually talking 10-15% these days.

"But I plan on keeping this for 10-15 years, so I'm not worried about resale!" Well, then we're back to parts support. Deere and Kubota aren't going to be a problem. Branson (China) or LS (Korea) are more of a crap shoot.

PS I own a Deere, but if I were getting a smaller (compact) tractor, it'd be a Kubota

My Kubota was 1.5 years old when I bought it. I've owned it 4 years now. It's now worth more than what I paid....easy math.

I don't care what the salesman says, it won't handle 6' equipment well. Especially the shredder with a hydrostat. I had a 38hp that didn't handle my 6' shredder in tall/thick grass. I would go 5'

                        I have a 46 hp Kubota, I run a 5' heavy duty shredder.

My neighbors have a 35 hp Chinese tractor...they run a 6' lightweight shredder. I've used it, it cuts the heavy stuff...just seems like it's tough on their tractor. It can be done, but I wouldn't go that route.

Agree.. that hp with HST is gona lug hard and work a tractor... it will spin it and mow but you will be creeping and taxing the tractor the whole time... I have a 1540 40hp MF and a 6ft Mahindra/Kodiack MD with 90hp gearbox.. its all it wants when the grass is thick... Id bump down to a 5ft imo your tractor will thank you 5 years down the road

My dad has 40 hp John Deere with a 6' shredder. On my place with really thick grass it catches heck also. We kept our old 5' box blade and it handles that easy and I think a 6' box blade would be no problem. Only thing I don't like about many compact series tractors like my Dad's is if you load the bucket up without anything on the rear it rears up in the back. They shortened the wheel base so much to make them compact that they are light in the rear, even with the tiny bucket they are putting on them now. No idea on the OPs question just wanted to throw this out there
