    Crossbows for Women

I'm a longtime compound archer. Concidering getting a 1st crossbow for my wife. She will be using it for deer and hogs from ground blinds, 30 yrds and in.

Please share any 'goods and bads" or personal experiences. Y'all know the questions: brand, accuracy, compund vs recurve, compact vs fullsize, reverse, dependability, $$$?

    Thanks for the info.

By far the best crossbow for the money in my opinion. It even comes in muddy girl camo. I liked my wife's so much I got one as well and it's currently on sale.

This xbow really shoots well and she will have no problem with the handling of it. It's actually a woman's / youth bow but is plenty powerful. I believe it shoots 350fps it is super short and narrow and can easily be used from a box blind.

My wife and my kids all shoot my tenpoint. My wife has no problems using the crank to cock it. We use the Caldwell shooting rest to support it. They can all shoot a quarter off of a target at 30 yards. My 9 and my 10 year old have both harvested deer with it. It is an absolute blast to shoot.

I did a ton of research before buying mine. Features, reported issues, value for money, ease of adjustment, etc. I bought an Excalibur. Couldn't be happier.
        All the best,

I have an Excalibur and really like it. They are very accurate and top quality. The newer ones are much narrower and lighter also. Some crossbows are not as quiet as others and not nearly as quiet as a compound bow. I would also get her a Caldwell DeadShot rest to use also.

Thanks for info. We already have a Deadshot Fieldpod, great piece of equipment. I am starting to look at features and prices on the crossbows now. I will let you know what I decide on and how it goes. Thanks again.

How much you wanting to spend?
                  Scorpyd makes some sweet crossbows.
Ravin also has come out with a nice crossbow.
Both of these are high end.
