Freezer help!!!

I acquired a FREE igloo 7.1 black chest freezer from my neighborhood facebook page. It will power on. When I think is the freezing condenser powers on for a few seconds, there is an audible click then shuts off. The previous owner told me, that during a pretty bad storm is when it stopped working (freezing). Previous owner states it's only about 1.5 yrs old. I know nothing about freezer or refrigeration. Any Help???

On new freezers and refrigerators you throw them away. They aren't built he same as they were 20-30yrs ago and the switches/controls cost as much as new units.

Dishwashers are the same f ing way. I buy a replacement part for mine ( usually door switch) it last 2 weeks and goes out again. POS's!!
