Hog Hide Question

Has anyone ever had a hog hide tanned? I'd do it myself.
Got a call that I caught "Spot" in the trap. He looks pretty cool on game cam. Going to take care of him this evening. I'll post pics here later and in the KAP 2017 thread after I put him down.

Study up on fleshing and de-greasing! You'll need both.

My next door neighbor is a Taxidermist and he claims they are way more trouble than they're worth. I'm not sure I'd attempt it, and I bet it would cost a bunch to have it done.

Thanks for the input. I'll get a better look at him once he's hanging. Thought maybe I'd hang it on the wall in the shop or maybe as a throw under the patio table. Could be an interesting conversation piece while watching the Cowboys.
If he looks good, I'll definitely do it myself and post it up in the DIY.

I couldn't find the actual thread where the guy who is or was a member here tanned one.
