Recent Army Boot Camp questions

My son is in Ft Leonard Wood and went 1/31. Still in Red phase, will be getting out to next phase next week if I understood his letter correctly.
We have received several letters from him but he has yet to receive ours. IS there a set phase when the DS will allow inbound letters from the family? On the plus side he is still liking it, says they run them into the ground but he will push thru and conquer. Does say he misses being home and working on cars but this is where he NEEDS to be...direct quote. So he is not whining abuot making a mistake, so thats a good sign I take it. I have found several pics on various Army websites and he is looking good.

It's been over 26yrs since I was in basic training but we got mail weekly. It's been 6yrs since my son was in basic training and they also got mail weekly. Has he said in the letters he is sending home if anyone else is getting mail or is it just him? If he is the only one not getting mail are you positive that you wrote the address correctly? It could be that the company he is in isn't squared away and they will hold mail until they improve.

I'd bet your address is getting messed up. There's always a lot of B Company 1/133 second blah blah...and USPS probably doesn't like how you did it.

It usually takes a few weeks for mail to get sorted into new platoons. Once it catches up, it's pretty regular though. This is how it was in the Corps.
