    Reloader Question

It looks like I am going to get into reloading for my rifles and handguns. Anyone have any input on a good system? Other tips/thought would be appreciated.

I will be reloading these calibers:

    38 S & W
    45 acp
    460 S & W
    454
    45 LC

    223
    308
    30-06
    30 carbine

I'm considering a Hornady Lock-N-Load Auto Progressive Press to start.

It's hard to beat a RCBS single stage. Especially in your rifle calibers and your hunting pistols.

I'll tell you, now is a tough time to get into reloading. Reloading supplies have skyrocketed.

It's a lot of fun though.

      Good luck.

Jeff, I've got a complete RCBS system packed in the attack including most of the dies you are talking about.

Why don't I just let you use it all till you decide exactly what you want?

        dc.

I just bought the Hornady Lock n Load and I really like it. If you get it before the end of the year you get 1000 bullets free from Hornady. That almost pays for itself.

I hear that the Dillion powder dispenser has issues and the Hornady is much better. Dillion is a little tough to setup but once set up churns out ammo faster than the Hornady.

You have to buy the Hornady Crimp dies and cannot use other brand crimp dies.

Hornady is much cheaper. Lifetime warranty though.

I actually collect old military rifles/pistols. Nothing better than pulling out the spanish amercian war, WWI and WWII rifles and pistols and pulling the trigger a few hundred times. I can honestly say that you have not lived until you've fired a Garand and heard the Ka-ching!

Don is now my new best freind!

Jeff if thats what you want to do I can pick it up next weekend and get it to my dad when he comes to Rising Star for our Christmas. He works by 6 flags so it wouldn't be hard for yall too hook up.

I don't do near the shooting/reloading I use to. I made B class in USPSA Limited and got into 3-gun. 10,000 rounds/yr gets expensive. RL550 is the only way to go.

First of all you need to decide how much money you want to spend...if you want to spend a ton get a dillon....if you want to get a good press for half the price go RCBS. What i have found with hours and hours of reloading for competion benchrest is the dies seem to be the real factor.
