Varmint/predator hunting competitions- will Texas ever follow suit?

Looks like New Mexico outlawed varmint calling competitions, do you think this will ever happen in our great state of Texas?
(Edit: it has not been outlawed yet but a bill passed the first review)

I enjoy hunting in these, although I can see it being outlawed in our future. The high number of animals being killed during some of these competitions is very surprising.

I own a small piece of property and over the 5 or 6 years I've been predator hunting it I've noticed a huge increase in turkey population. I have very strong feeling I've played a part in my little echoes system. I wonder the longer and more popular the competitions go on if eventually throw things (predator/prey) out of whack???

It has not been outlawed in NM. It just cleared that panel in the process.

I'd love to know what would have to happen to get the prices back up to what they used to be!

I jumped the gun, it looks like it has 2 more committees and a senate vote before it passes.

None the less it doesn't look good and hope it doesn't pass.

It will pass in NM. NM really did not fight it the way it should have when it was brought up for legislation. The varmint hunters wanted it to stay but were not willingly to step up and have themselves heard.

Texas? It could happen but I would hope more of us would not allow it to come to that.
