Well this isn't much fun [emoji20]

I've got sleep apnea and use a BiPAP.
Go to bed at 915, about 1100 I wake up can't breathe. I thought my machine turned off, it didn't power was out.

I tried to sleep, but crazy dreams wouldn't let me.
I can see flashing lights on my bedroom wall.
Wife gets up and looks, says police and fire trucks.
I get up and go sit in my recliner thinking that'll help me sleep. She goes outside to see what's going on. Power comes back on for about 10 minutes, I was fixing to go back to bed when I see a blue flash and hear zzzzzzzzzztttt!
I was like oops transformers toast.
She comes in and says transformer blew, the FD is in the house across the street from us. Sparks landed on roof causing a fire inside.

That is the pits. But on a good note at least the Fire Department isn't in your house. There's a silver lining in every cloud.....or whatever. I'm pretty sure that's how that saying goes....your house ain't on fire is what I'm trying to say.

And you got to see a transformer blow up. That's kinda cool. From a distance.

Well that stinks! I hope you can get to sleep soon. One thing you might want to consider is one of those back-up batteries they make for computers. It's basically a battery that is plugged into the wall, and the computer is plugged into the battery. If power goes out, there is plenty of juice to run the computer for (I'm not sure how long). I got one for my father since he spent a lot of time in his electric recliner as he got older. If power had gone out and he had the chair reclined, he would not have been able to get out of it until power came back on. You might want to check out something like that and see if it would be worth your while when power to your BiPAP goes out again.

Sucks. I left my cpap at home one time and one time only when I went to the lease. Drove the 7 hours back home the next day. I've got a small generator now just for that purpose. If the power goes out, I will get sleep. Home you get power soon.

I forgot to add that the house across the street is empty and for sale.

I appreciate the info but I'm not buying a house with a burned up roof in a neighborhood with a temperamental power grid and a bunch of nosy neighbors they stay up all night looking around.

Nosy neighbors keeps you from having to set out a LP or OP :-)

Plus it's in town so you shouldn't have to worry about Pachyderms [emoji16]
                    Now that's funny!!
