Anyone been this past year? Some friends and I are thinking about a hunt there for Axis, Blackbuck this summer. From what I have read the Axis can be tough if the ranch is green. Also that you can set up your own sets. Is that pop-ups, tree stands or both? My experience with a pop-up is it takes awhile for the deer to get used to them. Any info would be helpful.

I was there last year for turkey. Really nice place and the cabin is excellent. I did see black bucks running around and as far as blinds, he has one set up at every feeder. You're also welcome to bring your own and set up wherever you like. I didn't harvest a turkey, but I did take a big hog, which is included in the price.

I've been there twice this year and loved it. However, the hunting can be tough. I went last weekend and they were hardly hitting the feeders. I had better success seeing animal Spotting/ Stalking. Todd is a great guy to deal with and has a bunch of game especially whitetails. The exotic hunting seemed slow right now and I think it's due to the heat. My dad was the only one to shoot a hog this weekend. I stalked some pigs to 25 yards until I was about to shoot and the Sal looked up and snorted. I then made a 20 yard stalk to a Axis doe but that was blown when some whitetail bucks busted me. My cousin sat at a water hole and saw two shooter Axis that didn't present a shot. We also saw 2 shooter Black Bucks when heading toward the stand and plenty of Black Buck Does. We had better success last Winter. The animals were on their feet due to the weather. I shot 2 hogs and seen plenty of whitetail. My cousin harvested a Turkey, Hog, and Ram and my dad saw Hogs, rams, and made a shot on a turkey but were unable to find him. We will defiantly be back in the Winter but in the Summer it was defiantly tougher.
