Is it a gunite pool? The reason I am asking is because in two of the pools I have had they both leaked around the pool light casing. In both cases the leaks were detected using the red drops in the pool chemical kit. In the first instance the pool was new so they went in the pool with scuba gear and were checking the bottom drain, pool jets etc. When they got to the pool light with the method of putting the red ink drops around the light the leak pulled the red ink into the light/wall area. The second instance the pool was older and I found the leak myself with the same method described above. In both cases the pool companies repaired the leaking area.Last edited by tps7742; 02-17-2017, 09:51 PM.

My pool is about 20 years old, it has a crack in the gunite about a 16th of an inch wide from shallow to deep end. I siphoned out about 3 foot of water and used A&B epoxy to fix the crack and it has not leaked all winter. I used the same leak detection using dye mentioned above. There are also leaks that occur in the underground pipes that are much easier/cheaper to fix.
