    Need input on replacing toilets

Need some braintrust input on the best buy for replacing toilets. House is about 30 yrs old and its time. Need something that will "move" well and not leave trails. The new fangled toilets at my office are very unsatisfactory to me. I DO NOT like trails that take 3 - 4 more flushes. What is the sense in saving water if you have to flush 3 X as much?

So, buy experience, which ones tend to work best? Wife wants a dual flush, i just want it go away.

    GO!

This ^^^^^^. I replaced one with a taller model. Now My wife wants me to replace the other 2. They are nicer for folks with bad knee's.

Replaced 3 at the same time. Dual flush is great. Nice to only have to stock parts for one make and model......

Find the ones they use in truck stops....those ought to be strong enough to "move" things out in a hurry....

We bought our current house about a year ago. I'm sorry I don't know what kinds of toilets we have, but they're amazing. One flush every time. I have been known to be a clogger (not talking about the dancers) and these have yet to clog. They use very little water. I wish I knew what they are.

each more fiber. and stop dropping the kids off at the pool only 2x a week. There is a reason they call it a daily constitutional.

Went through this myself recently. Word of caution, if your wife is vertically challenged like mine (5'2.5" - I have to include the '.5' by her law), have her do a test sitting with a toilet on the showroom floor. With the 'chair height' models, her feet didn't touch the floor flat-footed. No bueno, as we joked she needed to firmly plant her feet for leverage. Standard height models are more limited.

Another factor that severely limited our options was the rough-in measurement. Our house is also about 30yo, and the rough-in for the toilet we replaced was only a little over 10". 10" rough-in / standard height was not easy to find.

I just had a flashback to the 'good naked/bad naked' Seinfeld episode and laughed hard enough that people in the office gave me the stink eye.

OP, when we moved into our 1981 model house, it had the low-flow toilets. HATED them. Constantly clogged, needed two or three flushes and regular plunging to get rid of "stuff". My advice is to go with the highest flow numbers you can get.

I think the reason people recommend the taller models is that they have a hydraulic advantage (less restrictions to interrupt the flow).

My brother recommended it for that reason, but also because we're over 6' tall and it's easier getting up and down without our knees folded up like a dead spider.
