    Stain concrete

How hard is it to acid wash and stain concrete, does anyone know the avg cost of having it done, the patio is about 2300 sq ft, about 1500 sq ft is new concrete just done this week. If anyone does this I'm interested in having it done, located in Cleveland, TX

It needs to cure for at least 14 days

Acid washing and staining is pretty easy. You could probably do it yourself. The old concrete and new concrete won't match. Depending on conditions, I would wait at least 30 days, maybe longer. There is very little difference between waiting 3 days and 14 days.

I'm going to use a concrete dye that you mix with acetone. Went and looked at it and spoke with the folks at the Stamp Store in Oklahoma City. The concrete dye's look about the same and takes considerably less time, don't have to neutralize and scrub like you do the acid stains. Acid stains you generally need to wait at least 28 days for concrete to cure. Go to their website, lot's of great information there and they are about as knowledgeable as anybody in the country when it comes to decorative concrete.

El General is correct and use the acid. Kemico is what I use.

Kemico is good stuff. The guy who owns it now is a firefighter who lives in Paris. I needed some products last month and his wife drove about thirty minutes to meet my wife in a parking lot to help us out. Great people, very helpful with all my questions!

PM Pernell. He's a concrete design guru.

Wife and I did our entire house with Kemico. Super easy and it was plenty cheap. Still looks good 9 years later.

That's funny. We've all been there.

That stuff works really well on pool plaster as well.
