    Would you say anything?

My son (14) and I were at Gander Mt in Frisco tonight just killing time before baseball practice. That place is never busy, never seen more than 10 people at one time in there. Anyway, I was looking at a tent and was inside it, my son zipped it up. Zipper got stuck and friendly 5-6 yr old girl on the outside helped me unzip it. Then she preceded to get in with me. I PROMPTLY get out. I look around and don't see a parent. She gets out and curses on to another section and still no parent. Finally her dad walks up. I thought about saying something to him about her getting in the tent with me but ended up not saying anything. I try not to butt into other people's business. With the freaks that are in the world today I just didn't have a good feeling about her getting in a tent with a stranger. Am I over reacting? Would you have said anything?

Not at all. That is a bad situation any way you look at it. I woulda come out of that tent like a scalded ape. I think I would have said something, but at the same time I am not sure how that conversation would go over. If he came up freaked out she was out of sight then I would have. Sounds like he didn't care and that's why we have a lot of the problems we do. Hard enough protecting your kids when your trying.

I probably would have tore the hell out of that tent and had to pay for it. Then I'd have explained why that tent is tore up loud enough for the whole store to hear it. That way anyone in that general vicinity would know that I'm not a weirdo.

The sad part is she probably didn't think anything bad would happen. She was just being a kid. You or your son would not do anything bad but in today's world you can't put yourself in that situation. I have 3 kids and would never hurt any child.

                      Nothing at all unless asked.

I probably wouldn't have tore out of their either. Just walked out normal so as not to make a scene. Honestly, I didn't even think anything bad about the situation until you said something about it.... I would have walked out anyway just because I didn't know the kid and didn't want to answer a thousand questions...

its a lil kid. laugh it off. if you think the parent is wrong, you probably support arresting parents that let their kids play outside.

that is actually now happening in the usa. now i know why. its criminal for a 5 year old to wander off in a store. maybe we need leash laws?

Think you were reading way more into that situation than there was. No need to say or do anything besides keep shopping or browsing with your son, especially once you saw that the other Dad was around.

These days I wouldn't be overly surprised to find someone with a camera outside of that tent having just set you up for a payday.
