Sharing Bowhunting in '08

Reading many of the threads here lately got me to thinking about archery in general, and bowhunting. I started thinking about how I got started shooting a bow and how much I enjoy it, and how I've shared archery and bowhunting with my friends.

I started to wonder how many we've all brought to archery, or back to archery or bowhunting this year.

In 08 I got Steve and his son Tyler somewhat interested, and they've sat in a bow blind with a bow only this season, and I got Jerry interested and he took an elk in Montana with his bow, and I got Jeff another old friend back into archery this season though I am not sure that he took anything with his bow this year.

So that's four for me.

How many have you brought to archery or bow hunting this year?

I got my father in law thinking about it and my little bro picked up a bow, he's a good shot, just need to get him on a pig or a ram this May...

Nobody this year. But, over the 27yrs I've been bowhunting I've gotten several co-workers started, my son and in the last couple of years 3-4 that have started shooting a bow but not hunting YET. I just don't have the opportunities I used to.

I think that pretty much everybody knows that Julie got a bow this year.

I don't see any big game falling to it this season but next season has potential and she did shoot a gar with Will's barracuda before Jaspro got his first bow kill

I got my brother in law into bowhunting and 3 of my nephews have started shooting bows this year and I have got a couple of non bowhunting friends addicted to bowfishing........I also got my cousin to finally give up his smokepole for a whole season......

I got my dad back into it. He used to do it in the 80's but quit for some reason. I also took my girlfriend to shoot one day, and she now thinks bowhunting is the coolest thing ever. She wants to get a bow soon, so that will probably happen in the near future.

Got one started into it with a new bow purchase and talked enough about it to another to get him back into it heavily...their wives don't like me.

Took my daughter to Oasis Outback in Uvalde and Bobby set her up with a Diamond pulling 40 pounds. She stuck a pig so far and is coming back Christmas week, she's hooked.

Bobby now has Bowtech in stock.

All of my sons (3), my wife, one daughter, (she quit) and numerous friends, a couple of which I was able to be with on thier first bowkill

Tx_Burt (Rob) got me back into it after 15 yrs. Killed 2 doe this year, and I got both my kids and a buddy into it so that's 4 to Rob's credit and 3 to me!

But I got Rob more heavily into it than he was cause now we bounce back and forth, when I buy a new toy or ride, he goes out and does the same and visa versa. I'm sure his wife don't like me much either!

Im about to get my son Back into it, hard to keep shooting an older Bow that weighs more than his rifle ...He's about to get a General or something soon. I'll get my 14 yo into it soon enough...He would rather have an ipod than a bow for Christmas

Brian, maybe you can get me into this Black gun thing I seen a russian made and Romainian made knock off...maybe write a story afterwards...How to kill 20 pigs in one standing...lol
