There is a Neighborhood Bar called " Toons " a friend of mine from Coffeyville , Kansas has near one of Ballparks that is well thought of in The Area . He travels to New Orleans often to advance his cooking skills from The " Masters " there . He is a Great Guy , his name is Danny Beck . I believe he just opened another Restuarant nearby . If you go tell him Mark Long said Hello . Safe Travels

As usual, Blake nailed it. That place is awesome for food nuts, more variety than you can shake a stick at.

Only two things to add, find a local spot and have an Italian Roast Beef sandwich with the sweet pepper relish. If they offer, have them dip the entire sandwich in the juice.

Have a good steak, they're famous for them. I'm usually there on business so we don't always to the high end places. One that I can recommend is a little spot on Wacker drive along the river and a few other locations around town with Wrigley being one called Houlihan's. Loaded with Bears and Cubs stuff on the walls and good food.

Perfect timing for this thread, my wife and I are going mid April to catch a game at Wrigley. Also looking for a good steakhouse to eat on Saturday night

                      Is "the hood" an option?

All of you guys that are making comments about the hood or dangers or the big O, that's in any big city. You have to know when and where to be. You guys have likely never been and should realize it's the same in any Texas big city. Even the big city of Corpus where Breezy lives near.

There's a lot of offer and a lot of history. If you're inclined towards history, just walk along the river in the inner loop area on Wacker and nearly every street crossing or bridge will have a little bit on the regions historical significance.
