    Slow Hunting in Uvalde

Is anyone else in the Uvalde area experiencing slow deer activity? I thought the deer were starting to rut a couple of weeks ago, but this weekend was very slow with hardly any deer activity. Only a couple of deer showing up at the feeders and the bucks that do show up are small. A few mature bucks are showing up at night on the game cameras.

has been very slow, this morning the big boys started to show signs of the rut and the adult does are starting to tolerate the bucks a bit better,
    good luck!!!!

I saw three fights last weekend, but they were mostly over corn. I saw several bucks rubbing and making scrapes and their necks are just starting to swell. I didn't see many mature bucks. It's been hot and windy, so their activity will be limited. Cool mornings were better than the afternoons if the dang fog wasn't too thick.

Things will definitely pick up in the next two weeks. I can't wait!

I've been up three times this year. Uvalde County... We've taken one 10pt. app. 3 medium sized does. Thats with maybe 7 hunters over 1800 acres. Not what it was last year. I hope the post rut drags them out.

we hunt between rockspgs and brackett. usually doesn't get good until mid dec, and i would think close to the same or later for uvalde.

peyton, why can't you wait??? i mean how the heck you going to top the one you already killed this year? or is there a bigger one you are after?
