    Another automotive question.

Last November the serpentine belt on my truck started squealing. One day after work, when I started it, the belt came apart and wrapped up around a bunch of stuff. I thought the A/C compressor had locked up so I disconnected the wiring going to it. I put a new belt on and it has been fine since. Well, it started squealing again day before yesterday. Here's the weird part. It only does it in the afternoon when the outside temp is warm. Not in the morning when it is still cool. The A/C is still disconnected. Could the tensioner be the problem? The belt isn't that old. I need to fix this before it shreds the belt again.

Yeah could be tensioner or bearing in idler pulley.

Thanks for a real answer. I'll check it out. I'm kind of leaning that way.

Could be tensioner or pulley. Also suggest getting a gates belt. They are a little more expensive but worth the money.
