Shoot me a PM and I can get you in touch with some trappers depending on your needs. Would you be interested in trapping multiple times or is this a one-time deal?

Doe probably around 800-900 Bucks just depends on how old and what they look like. I got some big shooters last week. 2750/each delivered and healthy.

What other species have you found to work well near Abilene? Aoudad, fallow, etc?

I have local axis and black buck within 45 mins of Houston. These animals are used to being in a high fence environment. I have a trapper scheduled to move animals within the next month. You can contact me at 832-731-0422. Sam J . You will not be disappointed.

Just out of curiosity how much does an axis doe and buck cost?

Just a rough cost is fine.

              Thanks
              Terry

Probably once for now just to thin the herd. Maybe again in a year or two

Of course the market sets the price on these animals. Our animals are big and healthy, with food plots, designated feeding trough with cotton seed and sweet feed, and plenty of alfalfa. Mature Bucks will bring market value estimate, 3K plus. 26-30" Sam J. 832-731-0422

I'm not an expert, had a friend buy 10 axis does and 5 axis bucks in the hill country. He moved them to his South Texas high fenced ranch. Within 3 months all the does died and 2 of the axis bucks died. He was told by the local biologist if he decided to restock to find them from another South Texas ranch closer. He believes the stress from relocation may have did these axis in.

Abilene is not Canada. The weather here is the same as the weather in the Junction area where axis and other exotics thrive (and where lots of critters dropped like flies in the big freeze a couple years ago). Lots of people have axis and other exotics around Abilene and further north. There are a bunch of them in the Panhandle, where it's typically colder than Abilene and the Hill Country.

I know you guys had a hell of a time with temps. We had 7dg. at our farm just outside of Houston on the S.W. side. We did not lose an animal. Sam J. 832-731-0422 Mature black buck, doe, and mature Axis.

Maybe you should leave your number just in case someone wants to reach out to you.

Not sure of the difference between leaving my number for the sale of a rifle, or animals that I am trying to move.
Trapper will be setting up Thursday 12-15-2022.
