    Hog nest?

A few weeks ago I was driving around and kicked up a pig that was close to the road. I was within 10 yards and it jumped up out of no where. I peppered it with my AR 22 as it ran off. Today I was driving the same road and decided to check out this "spot" where that pig appeared out of no where. Here is what I found

Blue stem grass was cut and layed in this pile. It was loose. What are y'all thoughts?

They do the same thing with pine needles here in East Texas. They will get completely covered up with them.

I have jumped two different hogs out of two different deep washes near stock tanks. In case y'all are wondering, that will scare all of the poop out of you. I don't know much about hog behavior but there may be something to it.

Yep that is a hog nest. I saw a couple up on the Red River, and almost stepped on them before they took off.

I busted a big sow out of one years ago and then busted her with the 300wm at about 10 yards when she turned and faced me.
She had small piglets in the nest.
Big hog. Dressed at 244 lbs.

My dad's cousin ran hogs on pasture about 35 years ago when wild hogs weren't so prevalent. His domestic sows would make nests.
They would eat your lunch, too.

Interesting proves they are over grown rodents. Lol pardon the sarcasm but the last two nights they have been tearing up some ground.

Yep. I called a few buddies who have NV to come out and thin the herd. As I was driving around picking up trail camera cards, I drove up on this group(pic from that morning)

I had my QC 10 9mm and started shooting. One confirmed hit at 70 yards with some squealing.

Pics from some of the other cameras

Buddy ended up letting me use an IR light and PVS 24. Dang, I wish I had 10k laying around

Ended up getting 2 and my buddies wife got her first kill on a good sized black boar

Sow builds a nest a couple days b4 she drops her piglets! They only stay in the nest for a few days....then they follow sow everywhere!

When I was guiding on the Tenroc and Salado when it would get cold they would build a different nest every night. We had them all over the place.
