I have a savage model 10 .308. it has a barrel nut for attaching the barrel. Question is, can I use any short action caliber (223,243) with the right barrel for caliber? Will there be any accuracy issues? Since all I am doing is unscrewing one barrel and putting a different one back on? Or should I just sell it and buy the caliber I want? Reason being, I have 2 .308 and this one doesn't get used.

There's not much to it. There's some good Youtube videos on it and a lot of info on Savage Shooters. You swap the barrel, set the headspace and you're good to go. I just put a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel on my 110. I have a .243 barrel that I took off that I would be willing to get rid of. I won it in a raffle. It was used when I got it and had a small spot near the muzzle that the bluing is messed up but it was a shooter for sure.
You can use any short action caliber. Depending on the barrel, accuracy will probably be better. If you decide to sell it, let me know.
