    Texas Public Hunting Question

Does anybody know if there are any Texas public lands that allow rifle hunting for deer? TPWD website is very confusing to try and figure out in regards to Public Hunting.

Draw hunts do, but not any public ty 2 lands. Would have to read the book again.

There are a few close to Louisiana. If you download the APH book, you can see which areas offer it.

Not really confusing at all. Go to the hunting page then click on public hunting. Then you can choose from draw or walk in and pick one out. Also like mentioned above, the national forest.

Sam Houston did I don't know anymore. I did years ago. That **** scares me though.

Some National Forest lands do but not all, a couple of ACE projects do, and of course some of the TP&W draw hunts do.

Check the Corp of Engineers hunting guide. Lake O' the Pines and Wright Patman use to allow centerfire rifle.

Go to TPWD, Hunting, Public hunting, Walk in/APH, Search for area or game. Then type deer-general in the search box and it will list by county every place that has a deer gun hunt. Looks like 11 places. Of course this is last season info and could change when new book comes out in July/august.
