    Arrow spine

I shoot a Halon 6 with 30" at 65lbs. I currently use beman isc hunter classic 340 with grim reaper 1 3/8" head. I used this same arrow with my mission hype at 60lbs. Had it chrono at Texas archery at 290fps but have added lighted nock since then.

My question is should I consider moving to 300 spine. Or is the 340 fine. Had a pass through on 100ish lbs hog at 20 yards but last weekend shot doe at 23 yards and did not get pass through. ended up losing the doe. The shot was slightly high just to add.

Only been hunting for about two seasons so I'm trying to get the best performance out of my equipment for hunting to make ethical kills. I know shot placement is a big part but want to cover all bases. Thanks in advance for the help green screen.

What's your arrow weight? Im assuming it's pretty light. Weight=penetration.

Looks like a solid set up. Focus on shot placement.

If your arrow is not flying true then you may not get a passthrough. You'll lose a lot of energy on an arrow not hitting close to straight in.

340 should work but 300 might also. What is the arrow length your shooting and what weight BH?

your arrow weight should be plenty. 340 spine should also be perfect for 65pounds

This is what I'm thinking. Have you paper tuned your bow. I shoot at Texas Archery every couple of weeks. Go in the chrono room and pull the paper tunning target from the wall and check it out. You should go through a shoulder with your setup

Arrow length is 31.5 with 100 grain grim reaper.

Had them set up my bow but did not paper tune the bow.

I will say when I'm target practicing I'm getting good groups at both 20 and 30 yard. I use a rinehart target and can put them all in the small black circle at 20 yards

Get some Black Eagle Carnivore .250s and don't look back.

You are under spines with that 340 being cut 31.5".

I'm a 30" draw and my 1st set of arrows they sold me was 340. Couldn't get the right flight....
Swapped to 300 spine and have never looked back

Better to be a little stiff

Dang. 31.5. Pretty long arrow. Your underspined for that length of an arrow. That arrow would need to be closer to 28 inches. For it to be correct. I would look at a 300 spine. Then I would still cut it. If nothing else cut it to your draw length.
