    places to camp

Me and my wife are looking for a place to go camping the last weekend in April. This will be our 5 Year anniversary and we would like to go camping and take our boat to do some fishing, trotline, jugs, bowfish and relax. We live just south east of Houston and was thinking of Livingston but seeing what else is out there. If a place has other fun things to do around the area that's a plus thanks.

Cagle is a nice little campground. There are several trails in that area to hike as well. We really like Lake Texanna. It's no longer a state park, but the only thing that has changed is the price. Up to $20 a night.

I assume you have a boat you can bowfish out of (i.e. Lights, generator, etc) I would go to inks lake state park. Would be a bit of a drive for y'all, but they have hiking trails and the lake doesn't have any bow fishing restrictions like conroe (grass carp). It's an absolutely gorgeous park and many camp sites are on the lake allowing you to leave the boat in the water all weekend.

Yes I have a boat set up for bowfishing we will be taking. Im fine with driving to a nice place that has more options for us and we both like trying new places for bowfishing and regular fishing.

Also if you need a change during the trip Buchannan is 5 minutes down the road from inks. Both good for everything on your agenda.

Fayette County reservoir has some cool camp sites and cabins as well as great fishing.
