Nice! He was my commanding general at the point when I went to Iraq. He was known to the troops for being a no BS, Azz-kicker type general. Of course, the Marines under his charge loved that kind of attitude from their general. Way too many general grade officers are nothing more than politically correct spineless pansies who's number one concern is their career. It takes a special kind of person to be able to play the politics that are necessary at that level and still be a warrior at heart. General Mattis was known for ability.
