    Lawn question

This warm weather has awoken a bunch of bushy green weeds in my backyard. Do you guys have any recommendations for a "general/overall" chemical I can spray to prevent and kill weeds at this time of year?

    Roundup!!

Just any regular Home depot/Lowes weed killer will do.

I assume you are looking for a "selective" herbicide as in one that wont kill your grass but will target weeds?s

Bonide Weed Beater worked well for me. I always shy away from the Ultra due to its concentration and was warned if its not cool enough it could harm the lawn. I'm no expert, so a phone call to your local garden store or nursery should set you straight. bump for you

Roundup is a good choice for late January and February in N Texas. As long as your bermudagrass is still dormant it will be fine. I used to spray preemerge and glyphosate in February to clean up any emerging weeds and keep the ones that hadn't germinated yet at bay. I think the rate I used was 24 - 26 oz Roundup per acre. (There are other factors to consider when choosing a rate, if you would like pm me and we can discuss) Good luck!

Not Roundup/glyphosphate. Get a broad-leaf weed killer--2,4-d is the one as someone posted earlier.

Glyphosphate will just stunted Bermuda grass and it will come back strong. A selective herbicide is the best as it targets broadleaf plants and leaves your grass alone (St Augustine is susceptible to 2-4-D).

Just sprayed my yard with glyphosphate last week. 1.5 qts per acre 41%. A little early for pre-emerge where i live but I'll spray it in about 3 weeks.
