    Medi share

I'm looking for feedback, good or bad, about Medi share.... I'm tired of paying $1000/ month with a 6k per person deductible for the 3 of us. I am an ER nurse practitioner at a major hospital, as well as working in a clinic that also provides some primary care, and therefore we never really "go to the doctor" for anything. We basically just need coverage for any major medical expense leading to hospitalization or surgery. I have been reading about medi share, but I am curious if anyone has experienced denials from them, or had a provider refuse to accept it. We accept it where I work, but in no way do I pretend to understand anything on the billing side, I just treat patients and go home.

My sister and her family use it. They were talking about it over the holidays...I think they were very happy with the one experience they had using it. That's all I got for ya!

I just started Christian Healthcare and have not needing to use it so far. It will save me over $10K just in premiums. As far as providers accepting it: you are just a cash paying customer. On covered medical bills you will be re-imbursed. The billing is a little confusing and I'm sure a few phone calls will be made when the time comes to file with them.

We have had it for two years. It seems to work well. A little different than insurance, but overall it has saved us a ton of money and been a good experience. My 21 yr old daughter had her tonsils taken out and they took care of it.

I read a comment somewhere that someone went to one of the Houston hospitals for cancer treatment and they wouldn't start treatment based on Medishare, citing that it "wasn't insurance" and payment was not guaranteed... anyone hear stories similar to this?

We also just signed up. First premium was 1-1-17. We really had no choice because premiums for the three of us was going to $1600-1800 a month. Medi share is around $550. I could not find a single bad review anywhere, and my brother who is a Pastor had several people in his congregation that have had it for years and had to use it and all have had very good experiences. You do have to qualify medically, so not the short simple app of your age and are you a smoker, but it does not take that long.
