I have a small 10 acre tract that I hunt near Tomball. Been trying to get a hog, but have not been able to get them within bow range. If they come in before dark they hold about 60 plus yards out from the feeder and will not come in. No problem gettng deer to the feeder while in the stand. Had 7 deer tonight within 10 yards of my stand and this was with me and my 10 year old both in the stand. Camera shows them coming into the feeder during daylight and dark. Seems that they are busting me, but the deer have no problem. Are hogs this smart? They act as if they have been hunted hard, but you would think the deer would act the same. Thinking of trying them after dark as soon as I can get some lights set up.

I have no problem getting hogs into bow range. I have hunted twice this season with 20-25 hogs coming to my feeder at 15 yards away from my stand. One hunt was a morning hunt about 20 minutes after the feeder went off. The other hunt was an evening hunt. Interesting thing is that i actually ran off about 25 hogs on the evening hunt on my way to the stand as i approached it. they returned about 15 minutes before dark. The one thing is that i approach my stand opposite to their path to my feeder. their sense of smell is their strongest way of noticing you
