That's not neccesarily a good thing. I highly doubt us steel manufacturers could produce even half the pipe that's required to supply the current demand.

I think that when they get tooled up and running they can as they have in the past and rebuilding our Navy will ensure they have long term projects as well.
We will see how it plays out but I hope that industry becomes strong again.

Chinese built a steel mill in Ingleside. It took over 3 years.

There has been foreign steel coming into the US for a long long time. Some of it is much better than what's made here.

I would just hate to see projects delayed due to this. Not to mention pipe that's already on the ground here sitting in pipe yards that's been purchased by various suppliers.

I used to buy a lot of korean, Japanese and Italian pipe. It's good quality, meets API specs, and is usually a cost saver compared to us pipe.

There are 2,500,000,000 miles of petroleum pipelines in the US already crossing umpteen streams, rivers, lakes, aquifers, etc...

2.5 million miles......enough to go around the circumference of the earth 100 times and the loony left locked up on completing these two projects. Ridiculous!!!

All I ever saw Obama do was stand at a pulpit and give speeches on how was gonna do this or gonna do that. I never recall him setting in the Oval Office signing things like that and showing us. Someone fact check me.

That's because all the E.O.'s he was signing was designed to put the screws to the country and he was trying to do it under the radar.

I watched him sign a couple of those today and thought about the same thing you did. I don't recall seeing him do it like Trump has the last couple days.

Just look at all the people he's had come see him, the executives, the owners, the money men... some on his staff, some invited in for discussion/contribution... That Keystone XL portion of the pipeline will come from Western Canada to Nebraska where it tie into existing pipeline networks that will ultimately bring the Canadian crude that is particularly har to refine and the best place on the planet to refine it into gasoline and other products is right here in Texas. Virtually ANYTHING that benefitted Texas, Outofofficebumma opposed it. Hell, Texas is the center of the Space program with NASA headquarters, and what does he do with the retired shuttles, send 'em everywhere BUT Texas... We got some makin' up to do, and it will get going quickly.
