    High fence construction ??

Looking to build about 3/4 mile of high fence on the cheap. ROW is not a problem. We have an existing perimeter road and dozers, tractors, and a giraffe for overhead limbs. We can get old light poles for free. Have a skid steer with auger. We will have to purchase wire and any t posts. There won't be any gates. One ditch that will require a 3-4' culvert or some type of water gap. This will be an open ended fence.

    1. What spacing would we want between poles and posts? Do we need t posts so the fence can "flex"?

    2. Place to purchase supplies?

Drill stem post then 3 t-post then drill stem. Repeat as needed. Ten feet apart. H-brace every 1/4 mile.

Where are you located to buy supplies? We use 2 3/8" pipe X 12' long every 100'. T-post every 20'.
And set your corners a minimum of 5 foot deep. We use 14' long pipe for corners and H braces.

I'm in Mississippi. I have unlimited supply of light poles. We thinking light poles every 100' with 10' t post every 20-25'? We could do poles evrery 50' No problem here with rocks so we can auger 4-5' no problem.

I sell a ton of HF material. It is not recommended to go past 20' t-post spacing with a line post every 100'.

Flat ground, go 20'-25' spacing on T-post or Treated post if using one piece Hi-tensil 96" wiring. Rolling ground 15'-20' spacing on posts. You can use the 12" spacing net wire instead of 6" to save a bit more money. Using the Hi-tensil wiring you will need good corners-3 Post corner braces 5' deep minimum. If you get good corners then use and "H" brace every 1/4 mile.
