Deer on our lease not coming to feeder?

The deer on our lease don't come to our feeders regularly. I was reading another post on here about hogs keepin them away. I don't have a feeder pen around my feeder and the hogs can come and go as they please. I had a doe come in to my stand on the feeder and showed no interest in the corn on the ground. She did not even get near it. I like hunting hogs but would like to see more deer also.

twice this year I had deer come out to feed just prior to a pack of hogs coming out. both times the deer ran off as the hogs appeared. the deer seemed hesitant to approach the feeder before the hogs appeared. if the hogs are frequently feeding at the feeder, then the deer will shy away

            Feel your pain!

I'm hoping this rain and wind will knock any remaining acorns down and the moisture will help sour them. The deer at my place can't go 2 steps without hitting an acorn right now.

I'm trying to be patient and stay out of the area until bad weather hits and these acorns are gone. I'll probably go today ane freshen a track catcher them come back home.

The hogs will run them out, but the deer will usually still sneak in when the hogs are not there. We have 3x the deer at our feeders with pens vs. those without though - the pens definitely help.

I've also been on places with high hunting pressure where deer don't use the feeders because they associate them with danger.

deer that are accustomed to hogs will still use your feeders

only time I've seen it become a problem is when you have deer that live 11 months of the year "hog free" and some drift through the area and take over the feeder. bedding nearby, and coming in everytime it goes off. those deer don't acclimate well

I know places where they have become accustomed to dogs and will eat at a feeder near homes and domestic animals.

My hogs are almost never there in the daytime. I have pics of deer coming at night, I would think this would be the last time they would want to be there. I wonder if the hogs scent keeps them away? I don't know, maybe not cold enough or just too much other browse.

I've noticed a lot less deer activity since these last rains brought out more green forage for them to nibble on. It was dry for so long and everybody held off on planting their oats. They planted them before these rains and now they are coming up. I've watched deer come out close to the feeder and just nibble on grass and leaves and showed no interest in the feeder.

Same here in Kerr county, acorns were everywhere. They are starting to hit the feeders some now but it is mostly yearlings

I've had the same problem in Bosque co. Here, it's due to great acorn crop. Sure is boring in the stand right now.

We have hogs on our place year round and I have witnessed twice this season deer leave the area prior to hogs approaching the feeder. I have also been hunting with 3 deer around me and all of sudden they run away. Then I turn to notice a hog stomping toward them and away they went. The deer will tend to return when the hogs leave out though

I wish it was hogs keeping 'em off our feeders. They just have not been hitting the feeders this year like normal. I understand acorns and all that but we have 2000 acres and 5 oak trees on the whole place(Coke County). Last week I had does walking 50 yards from my feeder and not even give it a look. I don't know what the deal is but something's gotta give.
