    If you could...

If you could buy a 1,000 acre ranch in...

South texas what county would it be?

Hill country what county would it be?

Central / East texas what county would it be?

    Please give why's.

If I were to buy in south texas for some reason I would want at least a couple counties away from the border and from the coast.

I believe I heard that there's a 600 acre place for sale on Sam Rayburn in Angelina County that's partially high fenced. That kinda acreage in East Texas and on the Lake would do it for me.

South Texas I would look at certain areas of either Maverick or La Salle or Atascosa counties. Hill Country I would look at Northern Kendall or McCulloch. All these areas have great genetics and have produced some great deer. You can find some larger ranches in all those counties with exception of northern Kendall. A 1000 acres there is a large tract of land.

South Texas would be Maverick, Hillcoutry Junction or Real. Central Texas Mills along the Colorado. West Texas Taylor. North Texas Canadian area. East Texas have no idea.

To travel to from my current house it would be Refugio. If I were to live on the place it would be Maverick.

I wouldnt be interested in the other areas you mentioned.

For the south texas counties right on the border, none of y'all would have any worries?
It's sad that we have to worry about it, but a couple years ago I hunted a big ranch in cotulla ( which was an awesome place ) and the huge lodge had bars on the windows and heavy duty locks on everything.....

I just couldn't spend the money on a place and have to worry about that...?

                            What's yalls opinion about it?

Pretty much my picks, I might take Trinity over Houston.
