Quick question on replacing trailer boards

I am just about to replace my deck boards on my 14ft tandem utility trailer. Going back with treated it came with regular painted boards with no spacing. My question is what is your preferred spacing between boards and why. I'm thinking 1/4 inch

None. If the treated boards are still wet, they will shrink and give you a gap.

Put them as tight as you can get them. They will shrink.

I wish I could answer this. I went aluminum boards in my floor.
                Old aluminum bleacher boards

Also I like to put the grain arc down.
                      Like McDonald's arches.

If you are near Sanger, there is a better option from Heritage Woods sawmill.
You can get sawn telephone poles, and they will cut them for your length/width.

I replaced mine last year. Got them as tight as I could

Pour your old motor oil o the boards when you have it. It will make the boards last forever.
